Peter Erasmus born 27 June 1833 in Fort Garry, Manitoba, Canada

  • Of Cree and Danish decent

  • Was an interpreter for the Canadian Government during treaty signings

  • A guide and interpreter for the Palliser Expedition

  • Mount Erasmus between Jasper and Banff Alberta, was named after Peter

  • A man of great influence, he encouraged the Saddle Lake native people to remain loyal during the North-West Rebellion of 1885

  • His house has been relocated to Fort Edmonton Historical Park

Robert Erasmus  born 13 Aug 1872 in Fort Garry, Manitoba, Canada

  • Did the mail-delivery by dog team between Fort Rae (Behchoko) and Edmonton

Frederick William Erasmus born 24 Dec 1919 in Behchoko, Northwest Territories, Canada

  • Was a hunter, trapper and dog musher

  • Moved to Yellowknife in 1940 so he and Florence's 12 children (including Guy) did not have to relocate to attend residential school
